The production volume of aircraft-related products in the five prefectures in the Chubu and Hokuriku regions (Aichi, Gifu, Mie, Ishikawa and Toyama) accounts for the majority of the nation’s total. The aircraft industry is prosperous in the regions. With the final assembly hangar of the Japan-made compact regional jet “MRJ” in Toyoyama-cho, Aichi as the production base, the public and private sectors make efforts to attract capital investment from the aerospace-related companies into the area for regional revitalization, and not a few has made entry by now.
One of them is Hokuryo (President: Naoki Taniguchi, location: Komatsu-city, Ishikawa), which develops and manufactures automotive and construction machinery components and sewer robots. The company put its target on the aircraft industry which has a good potential to grow as a new field to utilize their technologies, and they have made capital investment and steadily achieved results in the area.
