Why does tool life become short?

An end mill or a side cutter is often used for grooving. During grooving, both sides of these cutting tools come into contact with the workpiece and are constrained, causing cutting heat and cutting chips to remain in the area. As a result, tool life becomes short, and this makes operators hesitate to increase cutting speeds and feed rates.
