Workpiece surface roughness which is difficult to frequently measure

Measurement of surface roughness is generally considered difficult because it is time-consuming to attach and detach workpieces for measurement and additional machining, and it can cause mounting errors.

That is why measuring many products are difficult and inferior products can be found for the first time when they are measured. This eventually leads to rework and decrease in productivity.

On-machine measurement of workpiece surface roughness with the “DIGILOG” technology - Automatic unified management of data

With the BLUM surface roughness gauge “TC63-RG/TC64-RG,” workpiece surface roughness can be measured on a machine, so substandard surface roughness can be detected at an early stage. The automatic measurement can improve productivity and minimize production of substandard products.

Highly accurate surface roughness measurement is achieved on a machine with the “DIGILOG” technology that is capable of scanning analog measurement speeds via the Internet communication and making high-accuracy digital measurements with a touch signal. The dedicated stylus scans measuring points and displays the results in notations such as Ra, Rz and Rmax. The results are automatically stored, and errors on the equipment side can also be indicated.

No wear occurs at the signal transmission area thanks to the internal non-contact, optical signal transmission method, which allows for stable measurement for a long time. The product achieves high durability in a harsh machining environment at the water and dust resistance level of IP68.
