President's Message

Since its founding in 1948, DMG MORI has been a machine tool manufacturer that has upheld as its Management Philosophy to contribute to society through supplying original, accurate, robust, and troubleproof machines and automation systems, as well as digital technologies, to customers.

DMG MORI has always considered the improvement and maintenance of the physical and mental health of its employees important for achieving the mission statement and has promoted internal policies accordingly. We at DMG MORI implemented the mandatory work intervals in August 2018, introduced health screening program-type checkups in April 2019, and completely prohibited smoking on the premises in January 2020.

At the same time, we reorganized the Health and Productivity Management Office at each business office into the Health care and promotion center under the direct control of the Headquarters as part of DMG MORI's health image visualization efforts. We also launched the Health and Productivity Management Promotion Committee and announced the DMG MORI Health and Productivity Management Declaration to all employees at the 2021 Beginning of the Year President's Policy Briefing.

Using the c Declaration as a new solid springboard, we aim to overcome challenges and pursue living out our management philosophy, driving our PDCA cycle, while continuing to visualize the health image and further clarifying KPIs and numerical targets.

Occupational Safety, Health and Risk Management

Under our Occupational Safety and Health Policy, we have scientifically analyzed past workplace incidents, eliminated potential hazards, and reduced occupational health and safety risks in pursuit of a safe and comfortable work environment, fewer accidents, and better mental and physical health.
As a result, the frequency of occupational accidents has generally trended downward since 2018 from 0.68⇒0.71⇒0.60⇒0⇒0.58.
We will continue to strictly comply with relevant laws, regulations, and other legal requirements, and actively promote workplace health and safety together with all members of DMG MORI.

Organizational Structure

The Health and Productivity Management Promotion Committee is organized with the president as the chairman and the exclusive occupational health physician as the vice chairman. The occupational health staff, health insurance association, and HR/General Affairs Department collaborate to determine health and productivity management policies, execute measures, and manage the PDCA cycle both from the perspective of improving and maintaining the health of individual employees and from the perspective of creating a workplace that enables working with good physical and mental health.
For each important theme, a working group is formed, including employee representative organizations, to promote initiatives through repeated exchanges of opinions.
