What is a post processor?
CAM is software to calculate a cutter location (hereinafter, “CL”) based on CAD data. The post processor (hereinafter, “Post”) is one of the functions of the CAM software. The Post converts CL data according to the machine construction and NC unit specifications; specifies command codes for feed rates, spindle speeds and macros; and then outputs an NC program that is specific to the NC unit manufacturer.
