FACC AG, headquartered in Ried, Austria, is a tier 1 supplier for virtually all OEM businesses in the aviation industry. FACC develops and manufactures interior, structural and wing components and landing flap systems (spoilers), mostly from COMPOSITE materials, such as carbon and glass fibre.

To support delamination-free milling / drilling of these spoilers, an ULTRASONIC 360 linear was recently installed. This helped to reduce the processing time by more than 50 % to less than 45 minutes. Head of division Johann Stehrer: “The interplay between the dynamic and highly rigid moving column machine with linear drive and up to 3 × higher material removal rate thanks to ULTRASONIC assisted milling works perfectly, and the quality is excellent!”
