scan3D is a laser line scanner that can be used as a tool in LASERTEC DED hybrid machines. It allows you to scan and machine your part in a single setup. The system generates a digital image of the actual workpiece geometry, which you can then use, for example, for component repair on our DED hybrid machines.
The scan3D's compact design and HSK-63 interface allow it to be integrated directly into the tool changer. When required, it is automatically inserted into the tool spindle. The scan field of the line scanner is 100 mm wide and 80 mm high. 1,920 data points per scan line provide high resolution at a scan rate of 100 Hz. Scan data is transmitted wirelessly to the control.
Path planning for Scan3D will be integrated as a new operation type in Siemens NX CAM, allowing customers to create complex toolpaths and check for collisions using the built-in simulation. (All CNC scanning parameters can be pre-defined in NX, eliminating the need for operator input at the machine). By feeding the generated scan data back into NX, you can plan both the scanning and the hybrid repair in a single NX project file. Thanks to our Auto-Alignment feature, the scan data is automatically aligned with the corresponding CAD data.
