Supply Chain Management

Basic Stance

DMG MORI operates on a global level, and procures parts, materials, etc. from many suppliers. We recognize that our business relies on the cooperation and support of our suppliers and many other people, and we refuse to place undue burdens on suppliers even in cases where we have a superior bargaining position. We also engage in fair transactions based on the principle of good faith and fair dealing for mutual prosperity with our suppliers, and strive to respect human rights and reduce our environmental burden throughout the entire supply chain.

Supply Chain Initiatives

Announcement of “Declaration of Partnership Building”

In March 2022, DMG MORI CO., LTD. announced its “Declaration of Partnership Building” in support of the “Declaration of Partnership Building” established by the Cabinet Office, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Small and Medium Enterprise Agency and others. The Declaration is centered on the following two points.

■ Coexistence and co-prosperity throughout the supply chain and new collaboration beyond scale, affiliations, etc.
■ Compliance with “Promotion Standards”*.
* “Promotion Standards” based on the Law for the Promotion of Small and Medium-sized Subcontractors

As stated in the Company’s mission statement, “We prosper together with our partners,” we continue to strive to build and maintain long-term relationships of trust with our business partners by establishing fair and equitable business relationships with them.

Introduction of a supplier management platform
Increasing awareness of social responsibility throughout its supply chain

As social responsibility through the supply chain becomes increasingly important, we are using the platform provided by INTEGRITY NEXT GmbH of Germany to monitor our suppliers and conduct due diligence on human rights and environment in order to build a sustainable supply chain. For 16 sustainability issues such as environmental protection, human rights compliance, and worker health and safety, we work with suppliers to identify problems and implement improvement activities.
Through these activities, we are able to understand the international conventions and rules that companies must comply with, leading to an increased awareness of compliance throughout the supply chain. We will continue this activity to build a sustainable supply chain.

Supplier Information Sessions

DMG MORI sees suppliers as important business partners for doing business. We believe that our partnerships with suppliers form the core of our supply chain, and see these partnerships as crucial in promoting our efforts to respect human rights and reduce environmental burdens during the procurement process.
We therefore hold yearly information sessions with all of our suppliers, so that they can better understand our initiatives.
Under the mission statement “work to increase the prosperity of our partners,” we continue to work together with suppliers to engage in responsible procurement throughout the entire supply chain.

Promoting Procurement Based on CSR

We established the “DMG MORI CSR Procurement Guidelines” in June 2023. We will continue to promote our CSR activities by utilizing these guidelines.
