DMG MORI Earns Top Rating by CDP in 2025 For Climate Action and Water Security
DMG MORI CO., LTD. (hereafter “DMG MORI”) received a top rating in the CPD*1 2025 survey, earning a place on the “A List”*2 for climate action for the second consecutive year. This high-level recognition from the global environmental non-profit organization Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) highlights our strong commitment to climate initiatives and transparent environmental disclosures.

DMG MORI is committed to achieving Net Zero*3 greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 and is actively advancing reduction initiatives. In August 2025, we joined the global environmental initiative RE100*4 and have since expanded our use of renewable energy in parallel to strengthening our efforts to reduce CO2 emissions.
Additionally, our Machining Transformation (MX) strategy enhances productivity, reduces intermediate inventory and labor shortages, and lowers greenhouse gas emissions by integrating processes, automating production, and implementing digital transformation (DX). These efforts have contributed to our strong recognition in the climate change category.
In addition, DMG MORI was recognized for the first time on the “A List” for its water security initiatives, including robust water risk assessment and management. Guided by our environmental policy, we will continue to promote sustainable water use while reducing water pollution, withdrawal, and consumption to minimize environmental impact and contribute to societal needs.
We believe that advancing our machine tool business through the promotion of MX plays a vital role in addressing the global challenge of climate change. Moving forward, we will continue to drive technological innovation and productivity improvements while actively contributing to the realization of a sustainable society.

*1 CDP: Founded in the UK in 2000, CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project) is an international environmental non-profit organization that promotes the disclosure of environmental information related to climate change, water resources, and forestry by companies and municipalities, while also evaluating their efforts. CDP is widely recognized as the global standard for corporate environmental assessments and evaluates companies and organizations based on criteria such as governance, risks and opportunities, business strategy, targets and performance, and engagement. Companies are rated on an eight-tier scale: Leadership Level (A, A-), Management Level (B, B-), Awareness Level (C, C-), and Disclosure Level (D, D-). CDP had 22,100 companies worldwide disclose data through its platform in 2025. In 2025, over 22,100 companies disclosed environmental information via CDP, and nearly 20,000 of these companies received scores.
*2 A-List Companies: Companies recognized for demonstrating leadership in corporate sustainability, particularly in transparency and performance.
*3 Net zero target: An initiative aimed at achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. For greenhouse gas emissions across Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3, reduction targets aligned with the 1.5°C pathway have been set. Residual emissions are offset through carbon removal to achieve net zero. In June 2024, DMG MORI obtained certification from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), an international environmental organization.
*4 RE100 : An international collaborative initiative operated by the Climate Group, an international NGO, in partnership with the CDP, that aims to help the world's most influential companies achieve the goal of 100% renewable energy from solar, wind, hydro, biomass, geothermal, and other renewable sources by 2050.
