DMG MORI CO., LTD. (hereinafter referred to as “DMG MORI”) acquired the International Standard Certificate IEC 62443 4-1 (Security for industrial automation and control systems - Part 4-1: Secure product development lifecycle requirements) in November 2024.

Machine tools have become more interconnected in recent years, enabling the collection and analysis of various data to realize more efficient high-end production processes. However, higher connectivity also means a growing risk of cyberattacks, data leaks, and machine stops. At DMG MORI, we are stepping up our efforts for higher security standards of our products in response to the increase in stricter security regulations around the globe.
The newly acquired IEC 62443 4-1 certificate describes secure development life-cycle requirements which include specific guidelines for secure design, development, and maintenance of products. The certificate is held by Mr. Yudai Suzuki, President of DMG MORI Digital CO., LTD. (Sapporo), our leading Group company for software development, and its learnings and insights will be proactively applied to all our development processes to benefit product safety in the DMG MORI Group.
